Basic assumptions and philosophies of theories, interdisciplinary and original dimensions of administrative theories, classical theory, human relations, open systems theory, z-theory and contemporary theories. Theoretical analyses of administrative operation, processes of decision-making, planning, organising, communicating, co-ordinating, influencing, staffing, budgeting, evaluating etc.
EBB 617 Society, Culture, Education (3 0 3)
An overall review of education, culture, philosophy and society relations. Social functions of education, education and social change. School-parents relations, school-industry relations, social roles of teacher, equality of educational opportunity, the effects of mass-media on education.
EBB 625 Introduction to Research Methods (3 0 3 )
Scientific knowledge and scientific research, information, knowledge, source of knowledge, sorts of scintific knowledge, science, sorts of science, scientific knowledge and its charateristics. Data source and its use in collecting knowledge. References and their use. Researh, types of scientific research, scientific method and its phases, scientific attitude and behavior. Problem, its sources, selection, definition, variables and its types, problem statement (purpose), sub-problems, and hypotise formation, Cotribution, assumptions, limitations and defnition of the study.
EBB 626 Learning Processes (4 0 4)
Review of the various learning and teaching theories and their implications in relation to education, examination of teaching theory, models and strategies. Application of cocepts, theories and cotemporary approaches to the educational setting.
EBB 631 Organisation and Administration in Turkish Educational System (2 0 2)
A comprehensive analysis of Turkish educational system is achieved. Its goals, structure and processes are examined in detail. Changes in system are determined and their reasons are discussed. Its inclinations are determined regarding the environmental changes.

 

EBB 633 Educational Statistics and Computer Applications (2 2 3)
Basic concepts; scales and types of scales; linear correlation, its meaning, computation and interpretation. Regression and estimation. Some correlation techniques; order difference correlation coefficient, point bi-serial and bi-serial correlation coefficient, tetrachoric correlation coefficient, share coefficient, contingency coefficient, partial and multiple correlation coefficients. Sampling theorem. Significance of arithmetic mean and the other statistics. Significance of the difference between two arithmetic means. Chi-squire test. Analysis of variance. Computer practices of statistical package programs on sample cases related to these topics.

The purpose ot this course is to provide basic knowledge in organisational change and development scope, to form a perspective and to develop skills needed for solving organisational problems. In accordance with this purpose, topics such as therotical framework and thinking foundations of organisation development, problem determining and change strategies, models for organisation development, individual, team and organisation based development means, leadership for change are handled.

Structure of educational administration and supervision in Turkey. School as a system. Personnel services: appointment and trasfer, processes of candidacy, personnal affairs, judicical recards and disciplinary affairs. Student sevices: enrolment, monitoring attendence, transfers, measures for health and security, examinations, graduation and diploma affairs. Educational programmes: Instruction related services, annual instruction planning, teachers’ board meeting, povision of instructional devices. Educational services: guidence services, student disciplinary affairs, educational affairs, school-parent union and school protection association.School management: maintainance and management of buildings, plants, equipments and other educational places. Orgonisation of guidence services central and provincal levels and organising guidence at schools, administrative personnel in guidence, specialists, teachers, principal, formation of school guidence board and development of school guidence program, problems met at schools in relation to guidence and solutionvrecommendations.

The goals, structure and processes of vocational-technical education. Administration of instructional, educational, personnel, student and management affairs in vocational-technical institutions. In this course, it is intended that each student can do research by himself/herself. For this reason, they are asked to prepare a research proposal in a subject selected by themselves and proposals are discussed as a group in every step in class. Students are encouraged to apply some parts of their research proposals to the field.
